OUR VISION

OUR HISTORY

Antipolo National High school has the distinction of being the only public school in Antipolo for a long time. Years had passed and the increased in enrolment was an undeniable reality. This was the very reason why the local government of Antipolo decided to put up extension schools to every Barangay.

In the year 2001, the so-called “Free Education” of the Honorable Mayor Angelito C. Gatlabayan was implemented resulting to the increased in population of students. The previous number of enrollees from big barangays has tripled. Hence, the conceived BNII Extension was realized in May, 2002. The two-storey building was intended for a proposed high school situated at Lower San Isidro Antipolo City with a total land area of 1, 590 square meters.

During its first year of operation, the school accommodated  1, 032 high school entrants from the nearby elementary schools such as BNIIES, BNIVES, PVES, among others. Mrs. Edna F. Agustin was the first teacher-in-charge with 5 nationally funded teachers. The school’s first year of existence was not that easy, there were only three classrooms for more than a thousand students, in this case the basketball court adjacent to the building was used as classrooms.

It was indeed a great sacrifice for the pioneered teachers for they handled three advisory classes at the same time for the twelve sections of first year.

In answer to the crucial problem of this newly opened school, three make shift classrooms were constructed through the initiative of Hon. Angelito Gatlabayan, the City Mayor, who has deep concern in the education of the youth.

In its second year of existence S.Y. 2003 – 2004 additional teachers were hired to meet the needs of increasing population. Three shifts of classes were scheduled so that  all enrolled shall be accommodated. Because of the unstoppable number of enrollees of ANHS BN II Extension, Hon. Angelito C. Gatlabayan and the city council agreed to prioritize  a proposed project of three storey nine classroom building. This much awaited project was realized in its third year of existence S.Y. 2004 – 2005 which became an independent school.  It is now called Bagong Nayon II National High School.
