Abellon, Lorenzo dominate Div English Camp

       Arianne Leslie Lorenzo (9-Garnet) and Sofia Marie Abellon (9-Diamond) topped in the Division Oratorical Contest and Literary Quiz Bee respectively during the English Camp with a theme “Nasa Pagbasa ang Pagbasa” held at San Isidro National High School, Nov. 28.

Rhena Mose, April Riego, and Mary Jane Trinidad mentored Lorenzo who overthrew 20 schools in the said contest seizing the first place.

     Similarly, Abellon triumphantly persuaded the crowd as she deliveredthe oratorical piece “I Will Persist until I Succeed by Og Mandino grabbing the first spot with her coaches Liza Limbo and Decie Garcia.Moreover, Mariah Niña Maramag (7-Sampaguita) with her trainer Marivi Agcalis creatively told the story “The Monkey and the Turtle” by Dr. Jose Rizal bringing home second place.

Meanwhile, despite the unpredicted incident during the rehearsal a day before the contest causing injury to one participant, seniors composed of 10 dancers, supervised by their coaches Marsha Pecolados and Rosalie Villanueva, emerged victor securing second place as they interpreted the song “Say Something” by A Great Big World ft. Christina Aguilera choreographed by George Alvin “Borgy” Burgos, BNII alumna.

     Furthermore, Cielo Avendaño (8-Lanite) trained by Rodessa Zata and Jerico Julio Salazar (8-Tipolo) coached by Gina Dizon ranked third and fourth in declamation and spelling contests respectively.

Another group composed of 30 seniors, led by Roseminda Parto and Anabelle Pastolero, placed fifth as they delivered the speech choir piece “The Congo” by Nicholas Vachel Lindsay.“Amazing,” English Department chairman Isabel Gonzales said pertaining to the overall result of the Division Camp.“All in all, we are very happy, fulfilled and proud of the performance of our students. BNII has been a consistent fighter. It’s all worth the effort”, Gonzales added.
